Experience the sights and sounds of the colorful Rajasthan and the Mecca of Love – The Taj Mahal of Agra and later fly to the Land of the thunder Dragon – ‘Bhutan” where Gurus riding on flying Tigers meditated in Caves and monasteries perched high up in the mountains and rocky cliffs.

The land is blessed with extreme natural beauty, where The elevations we call hills are over 1000 meters high and the snowy mountains are over 6000 meter with eight of the fourteen Eight thousands here in Nepal itself. You will experience the multi-faceted culture and the pristine beauty of the mountains and lakes as you visit the world heritage sights in Kathmandu and travel to the lake valley of Pokhara, know for the artistic fish-tail shaped mountain and the backpackers heading towards the mountains.
The ultimate journey to the “Roof of the World”, will be a fitting end to a journey of a lifetime. Rising about 4 km above sea level and covering an area of nearly half a million square miles of vast open spaces, rolling hills with spectacular mountain views, with a perpetually intense blue sky over it a photographer’s delight. The highlight of the entire tour is your visit to the Everest Base Camp in Tibet. Time permitting; we stroll through traditional bazaars as well as historic and monumental sites in Delhi.
After breakfast, proceed with our guide for a walking tour of historic Old Delhi starting at the Jama Masjid – the largest mosque in Asia (from the outside only); proceed to Dariba Kalan – the erstwhile metal market now mellowed down to a jewellery market; Kinari Bazaar – where one might find clothes and decorations of all kinds for weddings of every faith; Parathewali Gali – to taste stuffed bread from shops dating as far back as 1860 & 1875AD. Reach Chandni Chowk – the Moonlight Piazza – to board a CYCLE RICKSHAW to Khari Baoli – Asia’s largest spice market for an insight into the spices that brought Europeans to Indian shores centuries ago. Receive an insight into the Jain religion while waiting at the Jain Temple for our vehicle. Enjoy lunch (on your own under your guide’s guidance) at HALDIRAMs – for some authentic Indian street food prepared & served under hygienic conditions. In the afternoon, visit Humayun’s Tomb – resting place of the 2nd Mughal Emperor, of the dynasty that ruled North India during 1526-1857AD; and the 12th century QUTUBCOMPLEX to see the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, and the 350-feet high QutubMinar – for centuries, the tallest structure in Delhi’s environs. Return to the hotel for overnight.
After breakfast, drive (approx. 3hrs) to Agra – erstwhile capital of the Mughal dynasty. Stop enroute to visit with our guide the Itmad-ud-daulah – tomb of the wazir & father-in-law of the 4th Mughal Jahangir – which is affectionately also called as the Baby Taj on account of its profuse inlay work in marble. Upon arrival at Agra, check-in at at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Agra Fort - stronghold of the Mughal Dynasty for over 150 years & built over the reigns of 3 Mughals from 1565AD onwards. Return to the hotel for overnight.
As the sun rises, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World : the Taj Mahal. This architectural masterpiece in marble was erected by the 5th Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in the memory of his beloved wife, Arjumand Bano Begum, who died in AH 1040 (AD 1630). It is also popularly known as Mumtaz Mahal. Her last wish to her husband was "to build a tomb in her memory such as the world had never seen before". Attend also a demonstration of PIETRA DURA – the art of inlaying marble with precious & semi-precious stones – used to embellish Taj Mahal. After breakfast back at the hotel, take a Walking Tour of Agra’s Colonial Past – for vestiges of the British Raj including churches and functional buildings that have incorporated themselves into the character of this otherwise Mughal city. Afternoon free for independent activities.
After breakfast, depart for Jaipur – the Pink City and the capital of the state of Rajasthan. Stop enroute to visit Fatehpur Sikri with our guide, one of the Capitals of the Mughals, built by the 3rd Mughal Akbar during 1569-72AD – now a ghost town in red sandstone, crystallizing within itself a fragment of Mughal spendour. Enjoy lunch at LAXMI VILAS PALACE, Bharatpur. In the afternoon, proceed to Jaipur, and check-in at your hotel – for overnight.
After an early breakfast, visit with our guide to the Hawa Mahal – the Palace of Winds from behind whose latticed screens the Royal ladies once viewed ceremonial processions; and the Fortress Palace of Amber - former Capital of the Jaipur rulers till 1727AD. RIDE AN ELEPHANT from the parking lot to the fort gates atop a hill. This Fortress is among the best hilltop forts in India. Within the stern exteriors that seem to grow out of the rugged hills are mighty gates, temples, huge ornate halls, palaces, pavilions and gardens. Proceed for souvenir shopping, as Jaipur is the place to shop-till-one-drops for Persian Rugs, gemstones, handicrafts, paintings and hand block printed textiles, bed linen and table linen. Lunch at TRIDENT JAIPUR. In the afternoon, see the City Palace & Museum, – erstwhile residence of the Jaipur royal family, now a museum including an impressive display of weapons & lifestyle artifacts; and Jantar Mantar – the Royal Astronomical Observatory built along ancient astronomical principles in the 18th century.
After breakfast, morning at leisure for independent activities – our vehicle shall remain at your disposal. In the afternoon, drive (approx 6hrs) directly to Delhi.
You will experience a most dramatic landing as the view of Kanchenjunga approaches and suddenly the flight drops down to Paro Airport. During the journey to Paro, one will experience breath taking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Mount Chomolhari and Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by representatives of Travel House Nepal who will escort you to the hotel.
After lunch, we visit the Ta Dzong, once a fortified lookout tower that is now the National Museum. Then we walk down the trail to visit the Rinpung Dzong meaning "fortress of the heap of jewels". Next we visit to Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country. Our next visit would be the Drugyal Dzong (Bhutan Victory Fort), which was built in 1646 to commemorate Bhutan's victory over Tibetan invaders during the 1600s. On a clear day, we can see Mt. Jumolhari, Bhutan's second-highest mountain at 7,314m.
After an early breakfast, drive up to Satsam Chorten (10kms) for a short trek to Taktsang Monastery. The name Taktsang means "Tiger's Nest." The monastery is perched on a rocky ledge with a sheer drop of nearly 800m and overlooks the Paro valley and the river. It is said that in the second half of the 8th century, Guru Padma Sambhava known as the second Buddha in Bhutan, meditated at the spot where the monastery is situated having alighted there on the back of a flying tigress. Picnic lunch will be served at the cafeteria. The round trip hike takes about 4 hrs. and makes an interesting half day excursion.
In the evening, drive to Thimphu( capital ). The drive to Thimphu takes about 2 hours. (65Kms.). Check in at the hotel. Time permitting, we take a leisurely stroll in the Thimphu town.
After an early breakfast, drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass (26kms) where we enjoy the most spectacular view of the Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges over a hot cup of coffee/tea.
After lunch we visit Punakha Dzong, which lies between two rivers known as Phochu and Mochu which means "Male river and Female river ". It was built in 1637 A.D.
After breakfast, we drive back to Paro via Dochula pass. At this juncture we visit the new Druk Wangyal Monastery, which is the only of its kind in the country, with elaborate paintings depicting the lineage of the present monarchy and their visionary works. We will stop at Thimphu for lunch. After lunch, we continue drive to Paro. In the evening, we can stroll through Paro town.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be received by our representative and transferred to your Hotel. Evening is free to venture around the city close to your hotel. Briefing at the hotel in the evening.
On a full day tour today we take you to several historical sites which are considered World heritage site including the historic Durbar Squares in Patan City, Bhaktapure City and over 2000 years old 'Monkey Temple' –Swayambhunath. Unfortunately, the devastating earthquake of April 2015 partially destroyed the some of these monuments some of which are presently under construction. However exploring these landmarks is a delightful experience that reflects the art and architecture of ancient times.

After an early breakfast, we drive along side River Trisuli to reach our hotel in Chitwan in time for lunch. Trisuli River is a popular rafting river offering some exciting white water raft trips ranging for a day trip to several days. 2 Nights and 3 days are spent at Chitwan National Park with exciting jungle activities along with an experienced naturalist. The activities at the resort includes Jungle safari on elephants, guided nature walks, canoe trips, jeep safaris in search of one horned rhinoceros, tigers, leopards, deer, crocodiles and birds and a cultural tour to the native village.
After breakfast a scenic country side drive brings you the city of the renowned Gorkha Soldiers. Pokhara valley lies beneath the 8000 meters Annapurna Massif dominating the skyline to the north. The view of the Phewa Lake against the backdrop of perfectly shaped Machapuchere Range (the Fishtail Mountain) is the popular landmark of Pokhara. Pokhara is also the starting point of many of the major treks in Nepal. After checking in at the hotel you are free to explore around the interesting Lake side market.
After breakfast, we will take a boat ride on the beautiful Phewa Lake and to the island like temple – Barahi Temple- dedicated to the boar manifestation of Ajima- protector deity representing the female force “Shakti”. A picture taken during a boat ride with the refection of the artistic Fishtail Mountain in the lake and the beautiful mountain rising above the Lake in the backdrop will guarantee you a best photography award anywhere any time.
Visit Davis Fall. Legend has it that a trekker named Devin was killed in the fall while attempting to swim, hence the foreign name is given to the fall as Davi’s fall which is also locally known as PateleChhango, meaning underworld water.
A stroll through the old Pokhara bazaar takes you to the important shrine – Bindayabashini Temple, dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati, yet another manifestation of Shakti (power).
Rest of the evening is free for independent activity or for optional tour.
The day is free for you to continue exploring this delightful setting as you wish. A full day in Pokhara offers you a whole lot of adventure opportunities such as Paragliding or a Zip-line adventure drop down from the Sarankot hill or a thrilling two seat single engine mountain flight or just relax around the lakeside.
Optional: Day hike to the World Peace temple.
World Peace Pagoda, a massive Buddhist stupa is situated on the top of a hill on the southern shore of Phewa Lake. Besides being a impressive sight in itself, the shrine is a great vantage point which offers the spectacular views of the Annapurna range, Phewa Lake, and the Pokhara city. We Climb the Raniban forest crossing the suspension bridge. After the 2 hours of walk we reach stupa and enjoy the spiritual and scenic beauty. Walking down from Pagoda is more enjoyable with the view of Phewa Lake and the mountains. We cross the lake after the 20 minutes of boating.
In the evening we drive to Sarankot Height for the sunset and sunrise view over the Himalayan Ranges.
Early Morning Tour: The most stunning of Pokhara’s sights is the spectacular panorama of Annapurna Ranges - Annapurna I to Annapurna IV - of which Annapurna I (8091 m) is the highest. Your hotel at Sarankot Height offers you a chance to enjoy this scenic grandeur especially attractive during sunrise.
For those willing to experience an introductory hike in the Nepal Himalayas can continue to take a 45minutes hike uphill to a superb vantage point at the top of Sarankot Height (1592m). Optional: The more adventurous can paraglide or make a fast drop by Zip- Line to Pokhara Valley.
After a late breakfast, transfer to the airport to connect with the flight to Kathmandu. On arrival, receive and transfer to the Hotel.
An hour of Trans Himalayan flight considered to be one of the most beautiful air routes in the world. The flight offers you a bird’s eye view of the entire Himalayan ranges and you get to see 8 of the highest summits in the world that exceed 8000 meters, including Everest (8,848m), all on this single flight. You can feel the thin air as you land. After an interesting 45 minutes’ drive we reach our hotel in the Lhasa City. An easy day with just mild activities and a good rest is advised for acclimatization.
After breakfast, an experienced guide will take you on a tour to Sera Monastery, Norbulingka and the Barkhor Square. At the famous Sera Monastery, you will get an insight into the important aspects of Tibetan Buddhism. Later in the day we visit Norbulingka Palace, which is the summer palace of the Dalai Lama and houses what is considered to be the largest man made garden in Tibet. Later we drive to the Jhorkhang, situated in the heart of Tibet. Surrounding the Jokhang Temple is the bustling Barkhor market place, which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. After the day’s tour, you will be escorted back to your hotel.
Tibet tours involve a good walk up and down the monuments. Today we visit the beautiful Potala Palace built in the 17th century. The imposing structure of the palace dominates the landscape of Lhasa.This 13 storied, 1000 room citadel served as the headquarters of the former Tibet and was home to successive Dalai Lamas who, from the latter half of the 18th century, used it as their Winter Palace. Potala Palace provides amazing views of the entire city. Later in the day we will visit the Drepung Monastery which was founded in 1416. We walk up through chapels adorned with numerous murals, art and artifacts and also observe nuns and monks chanting and performing religious discourses. After the tour, we drive back to the hotel for a good rest.
This day is for you to spend it as you wish. Explore and soak in the sights and sounds of the old city, revisit a favorite monastery, go for souvenir hunting in the busy local market at Barkhor Square, or simply sit in a café and watch pilgrims as they circumambulate the Jokhang. There is also the option of an additional tour to places such as the Tibetan Medical Centre, Ganden Monastery and Tsurphu Monastery. But this additional tour will incur an extra cost.
Moving out of Lhasa Today, you drive past Khamba La pass( 4794m), with a brief halt to savor the beauty of Yamdrok-tso Lake also known as the Turquoise lake. Further on we drive past Nazin Kang Sang glacier (7,252m). Soon, we come across another pass, The Karo La Pass (5,045m). Tibet offers an amazing landscape with shades of color, which seems to change with the daylight. The views from the high passes are awesome. Gyangtse still retains the charm of a traditional Tibetan town untouched by modern expansion. The compound, encircled by an impressive wall, once contained 19 monasteries, presided over by the still intact GyangtseDzong, a 14th century fortress perched atop a nearby mountain. In Gyantse, we visit the KhumbumStupa, Phalkot Monastery and GyantseDzong.
After breakfast, we drive towards Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. On the way, we visit Shalu Monastery. On arrival at Shigatse, we visit Tashilhunpo Monastery founded in 1474 by the first Dalai Lama, is still one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet.Tashilhunpo has one of the world's largest statues a 9-storied gilded bronze statue of Maitreya, the future Buddha. We have an early night to day to prepare for a long drive on the next day.
After breakfast, we leave Shigatse for Rongbuk. On the way, we visit the Sakya Monastery which is the ancestral temple of Sakyapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Many of its priceless images, frescos, statues and holy scriptures that remain date back to the time of its founding in 1073. After the visit to Sakya Monastery, we continue driving towards Shegar from where the road deviates for Rongbuk. We will drive to the south crossing Pang La pass at 5150m. We cannot but click away with your cameras at the splendor of majestic views of snow-capped peaks from Makalu to Shishapangma. After driving for 68 km, you eventually reach the highest monastery in the world-Rongbuk at 5000m. Explore around the monastery in the evening and capture the view of the monastery with Everest in the background especially beautiful during sunset.
An exciting day today as we make an approximate 16 Km round trip excursion to explore Everest Base Camp (5150m). The base camp itself is dry and barren, but the imposing closeup view of Everest(8,848m/29,028ft) -also known as Mt. Chomolongma ,more than compensates for it. After spending some quality time at the base of Mt. Everest we drive towards Zhangmu , our last stop in Tibet. On the way, we cross the Lalung La Pass (5,124m/16,068ft), Shung La Pass (5,200m/17,056ft) and Nyalam Pass (3,800m/12,464ft), which offer enchanting views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Aswe approach Zhangmu we pass through Nielamu Pass (3,800 m)with spectacular views of the JugalHimal. As we approach Zhangmu ,the road follows the deep valley of the BhoteKosi on a spectacular road with lots of waterfalls on both sides of the valley. We witness a dramatic change of barren landscape of the Tibetan plateau to a moreverdant Zhangmu on the Nepalese border.
After boarder formalities at Zhangmu we drive down about 530 meters drop covering a few kilometers drive from Zhangmu to Friendship Bridge . After crossing the bridgeyou will be greeted by our representative who will assist you to complete some custom formalities before we drive for about 5 hours through deep valleys, we reach Kathmandu.
Full day free to explore around Kathmandu.
In the evening, we enjoy authentic Nepalese food on our farewell dinner hosted by Travel House Nepal to celebrate the successful completion of our journey.
