Nepali Mountain guide Chatur Tamang accomplished his 132nd successful ascent of Europe’s highest peak, Mount Elbrus (5,642 meters), on July 19 at 6 am (Russian time), guiding foreign climbers. He expressed his achievement and revealed that this season marked his 11th successful summit of Mount Elbrus. Chatur Tamang initiated his mountain climbing journey in 1995 and began ascending Mount Elbrus in 2002. His future goal is to reach the summit of Mount Elbrus 200 times. Besides Mount Elbrus, he has conquered Mount Everest five times, Lhotse twice, Kanchenjunga, Cho Oyo, Manaslu seven times, Ama Dablam three times, Baruntse once, Iceland peak sixteen times, and Mera Peak seventeen times.
