There is no need to reports that the Covid-19 has been tested while going to the Everest Base Camp, the main tourist destination of Nepal.
The Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu had made it mandatory for PCR negative report to enter the municipality. According to Binod Bhattarai, chief administrative officer of the village municipality, it has been decided to remove this provision with effect from January 23. The village municipality has written a letter to all the airlines informing them of this.
Currently, flights are being operated from Lukla to Kathmandu and from Ramechhap to Manthali. Arrangements have been made to collect the swag for antigen testing at the Nikol Nikki Hospital in Lukla, Pasanglamu.
The village municipality has also decided to lift the ban now that the infection rate of Covid 19 has been declining, the government of Nepal has completely removed the lockdown and started corona vaccination. With this decision of the village municipality, it will be easier for the internal and external tourists to visit the Everest Base Camp.
